Perfectly Paula

Paula Taylor is a celebrated television host and actress around Asia, largely in part to her stint on Amazing Race Asia. She has a special spot for the Philippines, even appearing in films and television shows.

The beautiful TV personality has recently added another role to her resume…motherhood.

We find out how Paula is enjoying this new chapter and what she’s up to now.

What is Paula Taylor-Buttery up to these days?

Never staying in one place for long enough and a budding blogger - www.paulaandbaby.com

You got married and had a baby right away. How has motherhood changed you?

Ive never liked the notion that I have CHANGED that motherhood is something completely different to your old life. I like to call it a wonderful ADDITION to my life. Oh, and i check the ingredients on everything! Thats definitely new :)

How old is your baby?

8 months and beautiful x

How have you been able to juggle motherhood with your other responsibilities?

That is definitely a work in progress. Balance seems to be the perfect place we all strive for right? Ive never been one to sit still so I’m lucky enough to have many people in my life that help me out so i still have the opportunities to work.

Did you go back to work right away? If yes why and if not why not.

I went back to work around 3 and a half months after Lyla was born. This mama cannot keep still! :)

I feel fortunate that i love what i do so there were no hesitations, maybe nerves?! But either way, happy to be back, doing what i was doing (although on a smaller scale – that has changed for baby) with baby in tow.

How would you describe yourself as a woman?

Never a fan of describing myself, i asked the person sitting next to me and they replied

“If there was a Marilyn (feminine, sensitive, superstar) and a Jackie O (strong willed, intelligent, patient) at the same time. That would be you” – Not sure how true that is but ill take it :)

How would you describe yourself as a mum?

Fun, happy mum.

What sort of culture is your baby growing up in? Is it more Asian or Australian?

I like to think its the best of both worlds. The respect and gentleness of Asian culture mixed with the independence and free spirited Aussie.

What advice would you give new mums out there?

Its all a learning process. I can’t stress enough that you and your baby will both be new at it so learn from each other. Don’t let others tell you what to do or what is best for your baby because at the end of the day, Mama knows best!

If you were to do something over, what would it be and why?

Buy less baby clothes (pre-baby). During my late stage of pregnancy i was online shopping ALOT! haha… i have a girl. Temptation was too great.

What is your true passion?

Life! and everything it has to offer (I’m quite the optimist if you haven’t gathered)

What makes you a glam-o-mama?

Taking up golf lessons and a cooking course at 8 months pregnant. Us woman can do everything!
